Can an employee file for unemployment while collecting paid time off such as sick or vacation time?

No.
 
 
Employees will have the ability to use accrued vacation and personal time before applying for unemployment.Additionally, they can use accrued time to cover the first week of unemployment which is unpaid under the state program.
 
Employees who have reduced work hours may use accrued vacation and personal time to supplement their reduced hours.This is in advance of applying for unemployment for the lost hours.Normal rules apply for accrued sick time.
