One of our employees has a suspected but unconfirmed case of COVID-19. What should we do?
Take the same precautions as noted in this article. Send the employee home for a 14 day period of self-quarantine, negative test or until cleared by a doctor to return to work. Treat the situation as if the suspected case is a confirmed case for purposes of sending home potentially infected employees. Communicate with any other employees who were in contact with the potentially infected employee to let them know that, while there has not been a positive test, the coworker has been exhibiting symptoms that lead you to believe a positive diagnosis is possible. Do not share the name of the potentially infected employee with the coworkers.
