What about staff members and/or families who have already booked vacations that are impacted by the schedule changes?
The archbishop and the Department of Catholic Schools ask, out of an abundance of Christian charity, that staff/families reconsider their plans. We hope to have a unified effort to mitigate the negative impact of this situation on our families.
While we know this is inconvenient for the purposes of pre-arranged trips, it’s important to note that Archbishop Vigneron and the Department of Catholic Schools desire to ensure the safety, health and welfare of all students and school employees. Many pre-arranged trips are likely to be cancelled by hotels, venues and airlines. Further, travel during this time should be discouraged (both domestic or international) as it may subject families to being quarantined for an extended period of time, therefore contributing unnecessarily to an increased burden on successful school operations.
