What is the financial status of the assets of the Archdiocese of Detroit’s Priests’ Pension Plan? Is it stable?
Yes, the Plan is stable and continues to provide retirement benefits to emeritus archdiocesan priests in good standing. As of June 30, 2018, the Pension Plan had total assets of $78,282,071 which included $76,961,426 in funds invested in the market, $904,781 in cash, $261,177 in prepaid expenses, and $88,099 in parish net assessments owed to the Plan.
