What will parishes be doing to ensure that the church and the vessels used at Mass are properly cleaned between Masses?
Parishes have been provided with resources to aid them in cleaning and disinfecting. Clergy, and those who assist, are to wash their hands before and after set-up for Mass as well as after Mass and clean up. All vessels used are to be washed with soap and warm water. Hand sanitizer is to be available in the sanctuary and, if possible, placed near the entrances of the church.
Parishes are also advised to remove as much as possible from the pews (e.g., hymnals, missalettes, prayer cards, envelopes) to make cleaning and disinfecting easier. All items used by the public (door handles, restrooms, etc.) are to be disinfected after each liturgy.
