Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I am pleased to share with you the news that Ms. Kelly Kuras (photo) has been hired to serve as Director of Human Resources effective August 15. She will report to our Chief Operating Officer, Brian Mooney, and collaborate with organizational leadership across the Curia and Archdiocese of Detroit.
Kelly has more than 25 years of experience in Human Resources, primarily at General Motors where she most recently held the position of Global Leader for Talent Planning and Foundations. Her contributions include the strategy and operations for Employee Engagement programs, evolving performance management, leadership development curriculum, and most recently succession and talent planning, including high potential identification and talent assessments. Kelly has authored competency models, created process maps and guidebooks for HR professionals, developed leadership curriculum, and created interview guides and job descriptions for seamless end to end talent identification and placement. She brings many talents to our mission, including her facilitation skills, the ability to make complex things simple and organizational change meaningful. She is a talented coach, mentor, and manager.
Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology & Sociology from Albion College and a Master of Business Administration from Central Michigan University. She is certified in a wide variety of talent assessments and executive coaching. She is excited to serve in this new role and support all those who work on the front lines of faith in this beautiful community we all call home.
Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Kelly and, as Blessed Solanus taught us, giving God thanks ahead of time for the many blessings that her expertise and dedication will bring to the Archdiocese of Detroit.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
The Very Reverend Jeffrey Day
Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia
