Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Since I began my service as Moderator of the Curia, one of my ongoing goals has been to continually improve the support the Curia provides to our clergy, parishes and schools. The work you do in bringing the people of God in southeast Michigan closer to Jesus Christ is profoundly important. To do it well, you need the support of Archbishop Vigneron and all the offices and departments of the Curia.
I would like to think that we provide very good support to you, but my own experience and the anecdotal evidence I hear in meetings and conversations only tell part of the story. To help get a better sense of how we’re doing—and to tell us where we need to improve—I ask that you take a few minutes to complete this survey by Sunday, May 8. I am asking priests, deacons, lay ecclesial ministers, parish staff and school principals to share their feedback with me and my Curia coworkers.
For each Curia department or office, you’ll be able to provide feedback on four areas: how well we support your ministerial needs, respond to your emails, respond to your phone calls, and answer your questions. You’ll also be able to provide longer-form comments if you wish.
If there are departments or offices that you feel you don’t interact enough to properly evaluate them, you’ll be able to skip them.
The survey is anonymous, but you do have the option to provide your name and, if you would like to discuss your answers further, request that someone from the Curia contact you. The only question for which we require an answer is your role at your parish or school; this is to help us better analyze the results.
Thank you for all the work that you do to support our shared mission and for taking the time to complete this survey. Your feedback will help us better serve you.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
The Very Reverend Jeffrey Day
Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia
