I have a few Background Check Authorization Form updates:
The BGC Authorization Form Prompt will now ask everyone to update their information before submitting and signing off on the form for current users (please see the screenshot below). This should help lessen the email and phone call load for all.
The BGC Authorization Form is asking current and new users if they have resided in the State of Michigan for the last 7 consecutive years.
The BGC Authorization Form for new users will ask if they have a maiden name.
I have written a statement for you to send out to your parishes or schools, if you feel so inclined. Here it is:
Recently, there was an update in VIRTUS that requires our volunteers to fill out an Authorization Background Check form. This form does not conduct a Background Check; however, it consents to your having one completed every two years for (your School's name). The Archdiocese of Detroit is moving forward with the method as a way to manage items digitally in a safe and secure fashion, so as not to have you sign a paper format every two years. This as a whole helps our Local Administrators work smarter not harder and continues our duty to keep our Catholic Schools safe.
If your information is incorrect in your Background Check Authorization From, please contact (the name and email of your Local Admin) and he/she will be able to update your information for you and resend the Authorization Form.
